Collection of Historical Oboes

This growing collection of historical oboes supports my research into the development, manufacture, and performance of the instrument. With the exception of the Millyard, I am gradually restoring each oboe, with the goal of returning as many as possible to playable condition. In addition to preserving these instruments, I hope to use them in performances, demonstrations, and research examining how oboe design, keywork, materials, and playing characteristics have changed over time.
